Opening the Texture Tools

To open the Texture Tools, navigate to the SHADERSOURCE dropdown menu in the editor toolbar.

In this menu, click the SHADERSOURCE: Texture Tools option.

The Level Palette can also be opened via Window -> SHADERSOURCE -> SHADERSOURCE: Level Palette.

Select a Job

Tool Layout

  1. Texture Inputs

  2. Texture Outputs

  3. Job List

  4. Job-Specific Parameters

  5. Generate and Export Settings

  6. Run Selected

Job Agnostic Panels

Input Textures

  1. View Mode: Drop down that allows to change between Grid View and Carousel View.

  2. Use the texture selected in the Content Browser for this input.

  3. Browse to this texture in the Content Browser.

  4. Turn channels on and off for this texture viewport.

  5. The texture to use for this input.

    1. Left Click will bring up a selection window to select the input texture.

    2. Right Click will clear this texture.

  6. In carousel view, change between input texture viewports.

Output Textures

  1. View Mode: Drop down that allows to change between Grid View and Carousel View.

  2. View the alpha channel in the output texture.

  3. Turn channels on and off for this texture viewport.

  4. Zoom in/out on the output texture.

  5. The texture that will be/has been generated/exported. Mouse scrolling is enabled to zoom in and out.

  6. In carousel view, change between input texture viewports.

Job List

  1. Add Job: Add a new job to the queue.

  2. Delete Jobs: Delete selected jobs from the queue.

  3. Run Queue: Run all jobs in the queue.

  4. Output Name: The output name of the job.

  5. Status: Shows the current status of this job.

  6. View generated texture in the Content Browser.

Generate Settings

  • Output Texture Name: What should the output texture name be?

  • Output Path: Where should the output texture be saved (relative to this project).

Export Settings

  • Export: Should this output texture be exported to a texture too?

  • Export Path: Where should the output texture be saved to?

  • Export Settings

    • Format: Which file format should the texture be exported to?

    • Compression Quality: How much compression should be added to the output export file?

    • Overwrite File: If the file already exists, should it be overwritten or named uniquely with a number?

    • Async: Should the exporting process execute in an async process?

Run Selected

  • Run: Run the selected jobs.

Jobs Types

When the tool first opens, a window will appear asking for the first job type. Select a job type to open the tool.

Job Type: The type of job.

Job: AI Generation
Job: Blend Texture
Job: Channel Packer
Job: Insert Alpha Channel
Job: Modify Texture
Job: Normal From Height
Job: Texture Filters
Job: Texture Noise
